Since 1997, we have been providing software tools for debt management, data analysis, GIS analysis, and website development to the municipal finance market in the United States. We have set up an operation in Pakistan to expand our services in the USA and also to develop GIS products for the domestic market.

We have the priceless loyalty of our clients, we have great ideals, and we have a big heart in sharing the wealth of this company. We are convinced that a company is no more than the quality of its workers, just as a society is no more than the quality of its citizens. We are also convinced that when citizens have a stake in the society they live in, as in a democracy, they rise to their best for the good of that society. Likewise, when workers have a stake in the company they work for, as in a direct sharing of profits, they rise to their best for the good of that company. Accordingly, all long-term employees of DSPL will have a share in its earnings according to their contribution.

The software industry is arguably the most important technology industry in the world today. It has become crucial to almost all other industries because hardly any tool or device electrical, electronic, or mechanical used in any industry can function without software. In its usefulness, our industry is thus the service industry of all. The greatest application of software is of course still in personal computers. However, personal computing devices have changed and the industry has moved on from the heavy-weight desktop to the nimble laptop and on to the tiny mobile communication device. We believe that a unified personal communication, information, computing, and entertainment tool no larger than today’s mobile phone, and perhaps much smaller, is the future of our industry.

We aim to be a part of this reshaping of our industry by building visionary information applications for precisely such a tool. Pakistan’s reputation in the software development world is growing, albeit slowly. Part of the reason is that the industry leaders in this country have a tendency towards business ventures such as call centers, transcription services, etc, that draw low-skill jobs. Such jobs are profitable for the employers but tend to keep the employees under-skilled and hence low-paid. We hope to be part of a change in which jobs requiring a high skill-set for industry-leading and trend-setting software applications would be held by Pakistanis in Pakistan. Our industry needs to be strengthened in our country and we hope to be a part of this strengthening and maturing process.
